Digression in Honfleur

DesireCocon cosy
If Audrey baptized her guest house "l'Autre Maison" (the Other House"), this isn't by chance.

By embarking on this adventure, she had only one wish: that her guests feel like it’s their second home. We have to admit the venture was successful.
Listening to the radiant Audrey, we understand that creating a guest room, however, wasn’t a small matter…Decision made to move to Honfleur, the two owners—him Swedish, her French—had a common agreement, wanting to move away from the heart of the city, too touristy in their eyes. They threw their heart on what they call, in laughing, “dark destruction” in a less known area and agreed that Sainte Catherine is too touristy.

The St Leonard neighborhood, conveniently located close to the old picturesque basin well-known for its houses covered with facades of grey slate. A new expanding area, filled with art galleries, and away from the hubbub and touristy effervescence. “Saint Leonard, it’s our little festival off in Honfleur,” laughs the energetic thirty-year old.

After four years of work and patience, this old typical town house – which was built at a time when Honfleur was a radiating port throughout Europe – was finally renovated. I remember its exceptional situation, both at the outlet of the Seine and facing the sea made, from the war of 100 years, a strategic position and thus a place steeped in history. A few decades later, they are painters such as Monet, Courbet and Boudin, that belonged to the famous L’École de Honfleur, which favored the emergence of the impressionist movement. Back to our guests. Both stemming from the world of luxury (Audrey went to school at the Plaza Athénée in Paris, he worked in special event management between Paris and Cannes), they were able to infuse this soft and sophisticated atmosphere in this simple location. L’Autre Maison adheres to the codes of luxury but in a “quiet home” version.
Here, the energy and the work of a loving couple of the place transpires. Soft comforters, gourmet breakfasts with newspapers and magazines of the day, it feels good to have this address in your pocket that still remains confidential.

We love the hyper personalized hospitality, dynamism and freshness that Audrey struggles to ensure that you’ll have a perfect stay. Its objective is to raise its location in scale while remaining cozy and on a human level. Today, with unbeatable rates, this is without a doubt one of the best quality/price ratios of Honfleur.
