The houses, huddled against each other, opulent and neat. The delicately cut lawns. Behind the iron gates, we guess prosperous and cared gardens. A little further, we see a church and a cemetery impeccably kept. Here Kingham, one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds. We meet its inhabitants dressed like they were going to Diane price. And it is a permanent ballet Ferrari or Porsche.
This is not an imaginary film set but the English countryside Cotswolds release, this green oasis a few kilometers from Oxford. At Kingham, once will not hurt, it’s once again an old-fashioned pub that was rehabilitated in small hotel shop. The Wild Rabbit, pints of beer were deliciously replaced by organics apple juice. In this pub from the 18th Century in 2013 refreshed, healthy and tasty products have found their place in seasonal cuisine. The décor is the same elegance, a bit “Cyrillus” but so British and so reassuring, prevails. The materials are soft and noble, linen sheets, wool blankets, bath while wooden chalet release. The fireplace crackles, the carpet is soft, tones are pastel. In here one hears the sound of silence and foliage. Pedaling in the rain. This is England!
